Customer Review: Finally! A Simple, Attractive, COTTON Soft Cup Bra.
I like a simple, cotton soft cup bra for daily wear, but, in the past 10 years, I could count the number of bras on the market that fit that description on one hand. Underwires and synthetics have taken over. So I was thrilled to find the Calvin Klein “365″ Cotton Seamless soft cup bra (style D1302). It’s just what I was looking for: clean, elegant lines, cotton, and comfortable. This is a classically styled “triangle” bra, not the “croptop” or “bralette” style that I sometimes see in cotton. You can wear it with a deep v-neck. The cups are 90% cotton, 10% elastane and double-thick, so they’re not see-through in white. The rest of the bra, the band, is 75% cotton and 25% elastane, so it’s slightly stretchy.

A couple of thoughtful design elements make this bra especially attractive and functional. The elastic straps are confined to the back of the bra. In the front, the seamless cups taper up to and over the shoulder, so you don’t see any hooks or interruptions in the design. An underbust channel seam that continues around the sides of the cups elegantly provides shaping and support. The back of the bra has a typical 3-column, 2-row hook-and-eye closure and a heat-pressed “Calvin Klein” logo. The bra is sold in sizes S, M, L. I wear a size S, which I estimate would fit 32-34 A-B cups. I don’t think it would be big enough for a 34 B+. This is a bra for smallish busts.

This bra is convertible to a racer-back style. The elastic straps are adjustable, as you would expect, but they have an extra ring in them. This allows you to hook the straps together in the back so that they form an “X”. Voila, you have a racerback bra. You have to do this before you put the bra on, as you won’t be able to reach the rings while you’re wearing it. You may also find that you need to lengthen the straps to accommodate the racerback, so it may not be practical to switch the styles frequently. The racerback option does work if you need it, but I could have done without. I don’t like the extra rings. One of the rings has a small hook on it that creates a “bump” when worn under thin, snug clothing and might catch on a sweater.

The international laundry care hieroglyphs indicate that the bra should be washed in cold water, delicate cycle. Non-chlorine bleach only. Tumble dry low. No iron. Do not dry clean. I find that washing it in a lingerie bag in the regular cycle and line drying works well. But get this “365″ Cotton Seamless bra while you can! It is as close to perfection for everyday wear as I’ve seen in a long time. Great-looking, comfortable, with light support and mostly-cotton content that won’t irritate sensitive skin. Cotton lasts a lot longer than synthetic fabrics too. The rings for racerback conversion are the only flaw.
